Carbon Air Scoops and Cowling Kits for Mercury V8 and V10
Which Koshi carbon air scoops and cowling panel kits fit your Mercury V8 or V10 outboard, which finishes are available, and how they are installed.
The cowling is the most visible part of an outboard. Koshi makes carbon air scoops and accent panel kits that replace or overlay the original Mercury parts, built from the same prepreg carbon and autoclave process as our boats. This guide explains which part fits which engine.
For Mercury V8: 500R, 450R, 300R and 300 Verado
Three Koshi parts fit the Mercury V8 range.
- Ram-Air Performance Scoops (SKU INTS31-33). A proven Koshi design, available in gloss, matte, forged or clear finish. Supplied as a left and right pair per engine, 0.2 kg.
- Predator Air Scoops (SKU SCOOP-01). A more aggressive profile, sold as a left and right pair per engine.
- V8 Cowling Accent Panel Kit (SKU ACCP-01). Five forged carbon panels per engine, replacing OEM reference part 8M0159859.
For Mercury V10: 400R and 350
- Air Scoops for Mercury V10 (SKU AS-01.C). Sculpted scoops in gloss, matte or forged finish, supplied as a left and right pair per engine.
- V10 Cowling Accent Panel Kit. A five-piece carbon overlay kit with an additional overlay cover, in genuine, forged or forged matte finish.
Choosing a finish
- Gloss shows the carbon weave under a deep clear coat.
- Matte gives the same weave a satin, low-reflection look.
- Forged carbon has a marbled pattern instead of a woven one.
Every part is finished with high-gloss PPG-D880 or ceramic PPG-D8122 clear coat, chosen for life at sea.
Multi-engine boats
Scoops and panel kits are quoted per engine. When you add them to your offer list, choose single, twin, triple or quad, and we prepare a matching set for the whole transom.
Installation
Cowling accent panel kits are rated easy to install and fit over the original panels. Air scoops are rated moderate. Before anything is produced, we confirm fitment for your exact engine and boat.
