Why Carbon Fibre: What It Changes on a Performance Boat
Lighter, stiffer and faster. How Koshi Marine's patented full carbon construction shapes speed, range and handling, with the KOSHI 51GT as the example.

Most production boats are built from glass fibre. Every Koshi is built entirely from carbon fibre, using a patented process that combines carbon with epoxy resins. That single decision shapes almost everything about how the boats behave on the water.
Where the technology comes from
Koshi Marine was founded by Koshi Group, which has spent more than 20 years producing high-end carbon fibre components for some of the world's most prestigious supercars. The boats use the same industrial know-how: prepreg materials, controlled curing and precise tooling, applied to hulls instead of bodywork.
That background matters because carbon only delivers its advantages when it is laminated and cured correctly. The material is the easy part. The process is what makes it work.
What carbon changes
Weight
Carbon fibre is far stronger for its weight than glass fibre, so the same structure needs less material. The KOSHI 51GT has a light ship weight of 2,100 kg without engines, on a 16.26 m (53 ft) hull. Less weight means less power is needed to reach a given speed, and less fuel is burned holding it.
Stiffness
A stiffer hull flexes less in a seaway. The boat holds its shape at speed, the ride stays composed and the structure keeps its integrity over years of use. For owners this shows up as handling that feels precise rather than vague.
Speed and range together
Lower weight lets a boat be fast and still go far. The KOSHI 51GT reaches a top speed of 100 mph and cruises at 62 mph, with a range of around 700 km (435 miles). That is enough to cross from Miami to Bimini in less than one hour, or to reach destinations that few performance yachts can cover with the same confidence.
Why every Koshi is built this way
Koshi does not pursue mass production. Each boat is built as a unique project around its owner, from the KOSHI 11 tender to the KOSHI 51GT. Full carbon construction is what allows that range of boats to share the same character: light, rigid and built to be used hard.
Luxury is not only about comfort or design. True luxury is time itself.
